CRPA .300 AAC Blackout — 220 gr Subsonic
Berry’s 220 gr plated spire point, loaded subsonic for suppressed shooting. Approximately 952 fps from a 9″ 1:5 twist barrel.
Loaded on new .300 Blackout brass.
CRPA uses commercially sourced brass selected for consistency and compliance with applicable SAAMI dimensional specifications.
Suppressor-optimized test platform
This is suppressor-optimized ammunition. All CRPA .300 Blackout R&D and load testing is done suppressed on a Daniel Defense DDM4 V7 platform with:
- Faxon 9″ barrel, 1:5 twist
- Faxon matched bolt and bolt carrier group
- Faxon adjustable gas block and gas tube
- Standard A2 buffer
- Holosun optics
- Suppressors: Q Thunder Chicken, Dead Air Sandman-L and Dead Air Sandman-S
Each of these three suppressors offers different performance characteristics, and in our testing on this platform we’ve found them to be the most consistent on the market. Velocity, function and the barrel limits below are based on this setup.
Read before firing — tuning your rifle
This is a slow, heavy subsonic load built for suppressed shooting, and it may not cycle without a suppressor attached. Most .300 Blackout platforms need some tuning to run subsonic ammunition reliably — usually a gas block adjustment, and sometimes a buffer or spring change. It’s easy to do, and we’re happy to walk you through it. Call tech support at 520-565-1299 or email office@coyoteranchgroup.com, and we’ll tell you how we set up our R&D rifle and what we’d recommend for yours.
Make sure your firearm runs reliably and consistently before relying on this ammunition.
WARNING: Do not use in 1:5 twist barrels 9.5″ or longer, or in any barrel faster than 1:5 twist. Excess velocity can cause bullet failure and suppressor rupture.
